King PSJA College & University Center is a newly remodeled facility that houses the PSJA Academies and the PSJA Collegiate School of Health Professions. With state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, it serves as a college-styled campus for students engaged in specialized programs in partnership with South Texas College and other higher education partners. PSJA has positioned itself as a state an
d national leader in Early College Education. It is through this work and Dr. King’s philosophy of truly providing “College For All” that the impact extends beyond the students pursuing these opportunities to their families and, in turn, the entire tri-city community. Through PSJA ISD’s nationally recognized Early College Program, in partnership with South Texas College and other higher education institutions, high school students can graduate with up to an Associate Degree or 60 college credit hours before their high school graduation, free of cost. This initiative has enabled thousands of students to graduate from high school with a head start on their college work and with up to an Associate Degree from South Texas College before receiving their high school diploma. With all high schools designated as Early College, PSJA ISD has the only wall-to-wall Early College Program in the state and nation. Early College high schools are innovative institutions that allow students to attend college and high school simultaneously. PSJA ISD high schools offer rigorous instruction and provide academic, social, and emotional support services to help students succeed. Each year, the district welcomes hundreds of educators from across the state and nation who wish to learn about successful programs and initiatives by visiting and touring campuses through its PSJA "College for All" Learning Tours.
