Today, June 12, we proudly recognize Women Veterans Recognition Day.
We honor the countless contributions of women who have served our nation with strength, courage, and unwavering dedication. Your service has shaped our communities, our state, and our country in profound and lasting ways.
June 12 also marks the anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, the landmark moment that allowed women to serve as permanent, official members of the U.S. Armed Forces and Reserve components for the first time. This historic act opened doors, broke barriers, and changed the future of military service forever.
To all our Women Veterans:
Thank you for your leadership, your resilience, and every sacrifice, seen and unseen. You have carried the weight of duty with honor, forged new paths, and inspired generations to come.
At the Santa Clara County Veteran Services Office, we are honored to stand with you and support you, not just today, but every day.
Your service matters. Your story matters. You matter.
We see you. We appreciate you. We honor you.
Happy Women Veterans Recognition Day.💜
