The Municipal Clerk is responsible for providing administrative, clerical and technical support to the Municipal Corporation and its elected officials. The Clerk is responsible for maintaining records and documents, preparing agendas and minutes for meetings, providing customer service to the public, coordinating the election process, managing the financial aspects of the municipality, managing village website and assisting the Mayor and Council with their duties. The Clerk must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of local government laws and regulations is also preferred but not required.
The Treasurer oversees the general financial management of the finance committee. They plan and keep track of budgets within the organization, collect, deposit, and keep track of funds, write cheques, and provide financial reports regularly to Trustees and the Mayor. The Treasurer is a financial watchdog, ensuring the protection of the committee’s funds. The Treasurer is also responsible for reconciling bank statements, managing cash flow, and investing funds in accordance with the law.
