Huge thanks to the incredible team at Cisco for their energy and hard work last week! It was an inspiring experience to witness the assembly of 900 hygiene kits specifically for our AACI clients. 🤩👏

Taking the time to share our mission with such an engaged group was the highlight of our week. It is a privilege to connect with a corporate partner that understands the depth of our work and how these kits provide essential support to the low-income, first-generation, refugee, and survivor communities we serve.

The energy in the room was amazing, and seeing the team dive into the assembly process with such care ensures that our clients receive these essentials with the dignity they deserve. This kind of hands-on commitment is what allows us to expand our reach and provide for those who need it most.

We are so grateful for partners like Cisco who don’t just show up but truly invest their time and heart into making a real difference. Thank you for your generosity, your energy, and your partnership! 🤝

As this month comes to an end, we want to remind our community to continue recognizing some important elements of May.

🌸May is AAPI Heritage month AND Mental Health Awareness.🌸

AAPI communities are deeply rooted in culture, family, and community. These traditions can bring strength, support, identity, and belonging. 💛

At the same time, research shows that stigma and pressure to “keep the peace” can make it harder to talk about mental health or unhealthy relationships. Culture and mental health can co-exist. Everyone deserves safety, support, and healthy relationships within their communities.

If you or someone you know needs support creating a balance between both, AACI is here for you.

For AAPI Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month, we're taking a look into the mental health needs of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community.

A recent report by Asian Pacific Fund in partnership with California Health Care Foundation and Healthforce Center at UCSF Health found that:

💚California has 11 million foreign-born residents and nearly half of the state’s immigrants are from Asia.

💚 Only 4.1% of California’s behavioral health clinicians speak an AANHPI language, while 1 in 10 Californians do.

💚Just 25.4% of Asian American adults with any mental illness received care in 2021.

At AACI, we see every day how language, culture, and trust shape whether someone gets the support they deserve; community-rooted solutions are not optional, they’re essential. This is why AACI staff speak 40+ languages and we've created a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can address their mental health needs.
