Jim Morris delivered Teen Kitchen Project’s millionth meal last week. Teen Kitchen Project is a nonprofit that teaches teenagers to cook medically tailored meals that are delivered to critically and chronically ill members of the community.

Too many working families are locked out of homeownership by high mortgage rates and rising housing costs. That’s why I helped introduce the bipartisan First‐Time Homebuyer Affordability Act, which would remove Mortgage Revenue Bonds from the Private Activity Bond cap and allow California to offer qualified homebuyers lower‐interest mortgages.

The new USPS vote-by-mail rule would force election officials to undertake an unworkable ballot-screening process just weeks before the election, causing chaos and confusion and jeopardizing the timely delivery and counting of eligible ballots. I am supporting the legal challenges to block the President’s Executive Order restricting mail-in voting.

The USPS wants each ballot envelope to be scanned individually, with a member of election staff present the whole time.

Part of Highway 1 is reopen for Big Sur businesses and residents. We are grateful to the firefighters and first responders who are working around the clock to protect our communities and put out the fires.
