On June 16β17, 2025, MTC and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) hosted Accessible Futures: Sharing. Listening. Learning. β a landmark, disability-led conference at the Bay Area Metro Center in San Francisco.
This regional gathering brought together advocates, community members, and policymakers from across the nine Bay Area counties to address critical issues such as housing, transportation, the environment, and more β all centered on the experiences and leadership of people with disabilities.
Being an approved and trusted Bay Area MTA language service partner, Bilingva provided American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting for the two-day event for various onsite sessions happening on both June 16 and 17. Multiple Bilingva ASL interpreters supported the conference attendees in real-time mode at the main session and breakout sessions running simultaneously at the large-scale San Francisco event.
Participants shared lived experiences, identified gaps in current policies and services, and began laying the groundwork for future collaboration. The event fostered connection, sparked meaningful dialogue, laid the foundation for stronger community networks, and advanced the goal of building a more inclusive and accessible Bay Area.
Bilingva was proud to support the event by providing inclusive language services, helping ensure full accessibility for all participants. Our collaboration contributed to creating a welcoming environment where every voice could be heard and understood.
