We are currently accepting applications for our 2nd cohort of MATCH Fellows (“MATCHing Mathematicians with Classrooms Nationwide.”)!

MATCH is a semester-long program, directed by AIM and sponsored by MAA Tensor SUMMA, that pairs mathematicians interested in K-12 outreach with socio-economically disadvantaged middle school classrooms. The program aims to improve historically underrepresented students’ attitudes towards mathematics and their mathematical confidence by providing engaging mathematical experiences and meaningful opportunities to interact with practicing mathematicians, or MATCH Fellows.

On July 7-9, 2022, IPAM will host a conference showcasing the achievements of Latinx in the mathematical sciences!

The conference's goal is to encourage Latinx to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences, promote the advancement of Latinx currently in the discipline, showcase research being conducted by Latinx at the forefront of their fields, and, finally, build a community around shared academic interests.

The American Institute of Mathematics is pleased to announce a new partnership with the California Institute of Technology, Caltech!

After more than two decades in the Bay Area, AIM will move to its new home in Pasadena, CA, in early 2023. AIM will be located on the Caltech campus in the new Richard Merkin Center for Pure and Applied Mathematics, a research center and conference space that has been established in connection with AIM's move to Caltech, with support from Richard N. Merkin and the Merkin Family Foundation.

AIM will continue regular operations at its current facility in San Jose until the move in early 2023.

The Mathematical Sciences Institutes Diversity Initiative (MSIDI) is a collaboration among the NSF-funded mathematical sciences research institutes to increase participation of underrepresented groups in the mathematical and statistical sciences. The mathematical sciences institutes are uniquely positioned to seek funding and provide infrastructure to support members in the mathematics community in implementing a variety of strategies and programming aimed to increase diverse participation.
