Biblioteca Latinoamericana in San Jose has paved the way for many young children with a way to learn and experience their history and feel like they are part of something larger.

The institution has reached a 50-year milestone in the community and legendary educators reunited Monday for a trip down memory lane.

NBC Bay Area's Damian Trujillo takes a closer look at the legacy in the video above. - NBC Bay Area

September brings fall leaves, a change of season, and back-to-school season — but did you also know it's National Library Card Sign-Up Month?

I visited the San Jose Public Library Rose Garden Branch Library (where I took my kids when they were little) to celebrate everything you can do with a library card, from getting a FREE state parks pass that gives you access to over 200 parks to checking out preprepared Wee Play kits that teach our little ones science, literacy, and more. City Librarian Jill Bourne showed me the ropes, and even revealed that today, San Jose Public Library will be launching an exclusive Golden State Valkyries card right after the team's playoff triumph. Go Valks!

Yes, of course you can check out books with a library card (and the library has millions of books ready to access), but there's SO MUCH MORE you can do, including things we couldn't fit into this post. To find out how to sign up for a library card, click here: https://bit.ly/4dcYkyK

A big thank you to Jill and the San Jose Public Library team for all that you do!
