Kniestedt Foundation

Kniestedt Foundation The Kniestedt Foundation is committed to helping veterans recognize and achieve their full potential as they return to civilian life.

James Kniestedt, a veteran of United States Army Special Forces, has gone through intense combat and has seen the sacrifice of our brave service men and women. Forced to retire due to combat related injuries, he has dedicated a large portion of his time to assisting veterans and their families overcome the challenges of everyday life.

We have been out on the road for the last eight days in the WY. It’s been great, but we’ve missed food off our own grills and smokers. Yesterday while unpacking, USMC Veteran Chad Blissett hit us with this photo that we just had to feature on ! Somehow this picture made us even more happy to be home!
100% of funds raised though our sauce, seasonings and salsas goes directly to outdoor events hosted by the Kniestedt Foundation.
Message us pics of you using Gravick Ranch Big 5 Single Batch Sauce, Bourbon BBQ Sauce, Single Batch Rub, Hill Country Seasoning, Cajun Blackened Seasoning High Country Steak Seasoning, Cha Cha Sauce, Sierra Madre Salsa and Salsa Verse so we can post for others to see.

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them." — John F. Kennedy

This Memorial Day, let not just speak our thanks. Instead we need to carry forward the spirit of service, loyalty, and brotherhood that our fallen service members exemplified.

Let's use today to count our blessings, support the families of the lost, and ensure that no man or woman who gave their all is ever forgotten.

A couple days ago, we shared information regarding proposed changes being considered by Wyoming Game and Fish to the current Veteran tag transfer programs. We want to sincerely thank everyone who reached out asking how they could help.

After doing some additional digging, we wanted to pass along exactly how all of us can make our voices heard on this matter.

The two proposed changes we believe are most concerning can be found in Chapters 35 and 44.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟱
Under the current program, Veterans who are rated 100% disabled through the VA are eligible to hunt 5 days prior to the season opener.

The proposed change would limit early access eligibility only to Veterans with visible disabilities, mobility disabilities, or life-threatening illnesses. Unfortunately, this would exclude many Veterans suffering from invisible wounds such as PTSD.

In our opinion, this would negatively impact a large group of Veterans who truly benefit from opportunities like these. Invisible wounds are still real wounds, and those Veterans deserve the same support and recognition as any other.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟰
Currently, any Wyoming resident who holds a hunting tag can donate that tag to a Veteran who is rated 50% or more disabled through the VA. Many donors and Veterans build lasting relationships through this program and continue those donations year after year.

The proposed change would prevent tag holders from repeatedly donating to the same Veteran. Instead, they would be required to rotate recipients before that Veteran could become eligible again.

We believe this limits both the relationships built through the program and the freedom of Wyoming tag holders to donate their tags to the Veteran of their choosing.

For years, Wyoming has helped set the standard for how Veterans are treated and supported. Our goal is simply to help ensure they continue leading by example rather than taking a step backward.

Thank you again to everyone willing to stand beside our Veterans and help ensure their voices continue to be heard.

Since we began working with Veterans in 2016 Wyoming Game and Fish has always been the standard for what we feel all states should do for Veterans. This seems like a step backwards.

The good news is, we have an opportunity to have our voice heard. As we continue to dig into how to be most effective with our voice we will keep you updated. Until then, this article from the Cowboy State Daily will introduce you to the proposed changes and the concerning language that accompanies them.

Wyoming groups that host hunts for disabled veterans fear a proposal to change Game and Fish regulations on what counts as a disability could freeze out…

Big shoutout to our guy Pete Stone for taking one for the team and doing a test run on the Osage Fork this past weekend to scout the route for our annual alumni float trip coming up in late June.

This trip is one of the highlights of the year for all of us. Good friends, great food, and memories that somehow get better every time they’re retold. The countdown is officially on, and after Pete’s recon mission, we’re even more fired up for this year’s float.

Appreciate you, Pete. June can’t get here soon enough.
