Today, the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office joined San Francisco Police Department San Francisco Fire Department San Francisco Recreation and Park Department Rangers and Mayor Lurie for the annual Police-Fire-Sheriff Mass at St. Cecilia Church.

The tradition began as a way to honor the firefighters who lost their lives in the 1946 Herbert Hotel Fire and has grown into an annual tribute to the men and women who .

This year’s Mass also provided an opportunity to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the whose courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Thank you to Archdiocese of San Francisco for allowing us in continue this meaningful tradition.
