Today, we mark 25 years since the September 11, 2001 attacks with remembrance and reflection.

The City and County of San Francisco - Government stands in solidarity with New York City and communities across our nation as we honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and all who responded with courage and compassion. May we continue to carry forward the spirit of unity, service, and humanity that brought us together in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember. We stand together. We will never forget. 💙

Crews continued work at the intersection of Sacramento and Sansome streets as part of the Sacramento Street and Sansome Street Improvement Project.

Construction at the intersection is nearing completion.

Crews are wrapping up work on the southwest corner installing a new ADA compliant curb ramp. The surrounding sidewalk will receive a specialized terrazzo style finish.

Yesterday, San Francisco Public Works teams from our cement shop and building repair, paving and street repair and structural engineering sections walked through the closed Broadway Tunnel bore (currently closed as part of the Chinatown Public Health Center improvement project) to look beyond the immediate construction area and assess other potential tunnel improvements.

Areas being evaluated include roadway resurfacing, asphalt and concrete repairs, sidewalk safety improvements, tunnel cleaning, lighting and other maintenance needs. Teams will bring their observations back for further evaluation, including potential scope, cost and budget needs.

Also, the Chinatown Public Health Center project only affects the tunnel area directly below the building, and the contractor is using a temporary containment enclosure inside the tunnel to help control dust and keep construction activities contained.

Public Works is pleased to announce the following bid opportunity:

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
As-Needed Civil Engineering Services 2026
Sourcing Event ID 11866

San Francisco Public Works (Public Works), a department of the City and County of San Francisco (City), seeks to award up to five (5) contracts to pre-qualified Consultant or Joint Venture firms to provide professional civil engineering and related services for City projects on as-needed basis. Assignments will vary in size and complexity, as further described in the RFQ.

Contract Terms: This RFQ will result in a separate contract (master agreement) for each selected Proposer with a total contract value not-to-exceed $4,500,000. Each contract will have a five-year term; with Contract Service Orders (CSO) issued throughout the contract duration.

Requirements:

1. The LBE subconsulting requirement is 20% of the total value of services. The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement and Good Faith Outreach requirements of Chapter 14B of the San Francisco Administrative Code shall apply to this RFQ. Eligible LBE/LBE Joint Venture proposers may receive Rating Bonuses according to Chapter 14B (see RFQ for details).

3. Prevailing Wage Requirement: Consultants with billing classifications subject to prevailing wages on public works projects may not be awarded a contract unless they are registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) at the time of award. Pre-Proposal Conference: Pre-proposal conference will not be conducted for this RFQ. Questions must be submitted by email to the Contract Administrator, at [email protected] no later than 4:00 P.M. on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Proposal Submission: Proposers shall log in and upload complete proposals into the SF City Partner Website, https://sfcitypartner.sfgov.org/pages/index.aspx no later than 2:00:00 P.M. Pacific Standard Time on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. Consultants shall submit Proposals as specified and required in the RFQ. Late submittals will not be considered.
