A 9/11 hero and SF Chinatown native, Betty Ong now has a neighborhood recreation center named after her

"Ong grew up in San Francisco’s Chinatown, the youngest of four children. Her parents ran a grocery shop and meat business on Jackson Street."

NICOS is an active member of Cavity-Free SF, which addresses oral health disparities in children of color. Today, we conducted a workshop on both children's oral health and the health harms of sugar-sweetened beverages for parents with children enrolled at the Chinatown Community Children's Center, our neighbor!
