Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club

Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club is a volunteer led organization with more than 500 active members as well as a regional board.

Founded in 1983, the Wallenberg club is an active volunteer-led organization that works to endorse and educate candidates and officials on issues that are important to San Francisco's Jewish community. The Wallenberg Club has been a platform for leaders in our community including Senator Mark Leno, former Supervisor and SF Democratic Council Central Committee member Leslie Katz, as well as Communi

ty College Board Members Natalie Berg and Milton Marks III. Leaders and members of the Wallenberg Club include people with a wide range of experience and involvement in the local Jewish community as well as the local Democratic political community. The Club has been a force on issues pertaining to Israel, in particular, fighting anti-Israel resolutions in the cities of San Francisco and Berkeley. In recent years, the club joined in the Jewish Community Relations Council's campaign to convince San Francisco's Rainbow Grocery to drop its boycott of Israeli goods. We also successfully organized to get a local community service organization to drop a requirement that its members sign an anti-Israel pledge.

RWJDC echoes the sentiments of those who have denounced the antisemitic harassment and violent threats directed at Senator Scott Wiener at the Trans March in San Francisco this past weekend by a group of fringe extremists. We are appalled by this vile behavior and those celebrating it. As Jewish civic leaders and elected officials have increasingly become the target of antisemitic attacks of this nature, we call upon Jewish community allies to denounce this hatred unequivocally and stand in solidarity with us. Hate has no place in San Francisco, or at Pride.

What a memorable evening at Hazie’s last night celebrating Hanukkah with community, conversation, and connection 🕎✨

The Raoul Wallenberg Jewish Democratic Club hosted a joyful Latke & Vodka Hanukkah Party, bringing together friends, leaders, and neighbors committed to Jewish civic engagement and democratic values.

We were honored to hear from San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu and happy to see Rafael Mandelman, President of the Board of Supervisors, and Manny Yekutiel, District 8 Supervisor candidate—each sharing thoughtful insights and a deep commitment to the San Francisco Jewish community.
