Does anyone have any information on 943 South Van Ness? It was operating as The Inn San Francisco. Looks like the property changed hands in January 2026 and is no longer open as a B&B. This building was on our 2013 Mission District House Tour.

Historic cable car 17 going up Sacramento street near the Donaldina Cameron House.

Donaldina Cameron House at 920 Sacramento Street has stood in Chinatown since 1874, serving as a refuge for Chinese women and girls rescued from forced labor and s*x trafficking. For over four decades, Donaldina Cameron led the mission with fierce determination, conducting dramatic raids on brothels and cribs throughout the neighborhood — earning her the nickname “Fahn Quai” (White Devil) from those whose criminal operations she dismantled. Today the building, a designated San Francisco landmark, continues its mission as a social services organization supporting Asian women and families.
