The Department of Elections has officially certified the local results for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election. 🗳️ ✅

For this election, voter turnout was nearly 56% with 295,232 of San Francisco’s 531,310 voters participating in the election.

UPDATE: The Department of Elections has issued the fifth preliminary results report of votes cast in the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election.

Preliminary results are posted at https://sfelections.gov/results.

Today's preliminary results report includes 26,624 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots counted since the previous results report issued on Monday, November 10.

The Department must still process and count approximately 2,800 provisional ballots.

Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at https://sfelections.gov/observe.

The Department will release the next preliminary results report on Monday, November 24, at 4pm.

The Department expects to certify the local results for this statewide election on December 3.

UPDATE: The Department of Elections has issued the fourth preliminary results report of votes cast in the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election.

Preliminary results are posted at https://sfelections.gov/results.

Today's preliminary results report includes 56,253 vote-by-mail ballots counted since the last results report issued on Thursday, November 6.

The Department must still process and count approximately 27,500 ballots, including approximately 21,000 vote-by-mail ballots and 6,500 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center.

Department personnel will process and count ballots on weekdays from 8am-5pm, except Veteran's Day (November 11).

The Department expects to certify the local results for this statewide election on December 3.

Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at https://sfelections.gov/observe.

The Department will release the next preliminary results report on Monday, November 17, at 4pm.

UPDATE: The Department of Elections has issued the third preliminary results reports of votes cast in the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election.

Preliminary results are posted at https://sfelections.gov/results.

Today's preliminary results report includes 13,084 vote-by-mail ballots counted since the last results report issued on Election Night.

The Department must still process and count approximately 82,000 ballots. This estimate includes approximately 75,500 vote-by-mail ballots and 6,500 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center.

Department personnel will process and count ballots weekdays from 8am-5pm, except Veteran's Day (November 11).

The Department expects to certify the local results for this statewide election on December 3.

Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream at https://sfelections.gov/observe.

The next preliminary results report will be released on Monday, November 10, at 4pm.

UPDATE: The Department of Elections must still process and count approximately 69,000 ballots for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election.

This estimate includes:

-approximately 62,000 vote-by-mail ballots received on Election Day by mail, at drop boxes, and at polling places;

-6,700 provisional ballots cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center.

Estimates of remaining ballots to count will be posted at https://sfelections.gov/results along with all election results reports.

Department personnel will continue processing and counting ballots until 5pm today and will maintain the same schedule, 8am-5pm during weekdays, except on Veteran’s Day (November 11), until certifying the local results on December 3.

The Department of Elections has released the second preliminary results report of votes cast in the November 4, Statewide Special Election.

Updated preliminary results are available at sfelections.gov/results.

The second preliminary results report includes results of vote-by-mail ballots received before Election Day and results from in-person voting at all 100 polling places.

Beginning Wednesday, November 5, the Department will publish a report of the approximate number of ballots remaining to be counted.

On Thursday, November 6, and Monday, November 10, the Department will release updated preliminary election results reports at approximately 4pm.

The Department of Elections has released preliminary results for the November 4, 2025, Statewide Special Election.

Preliminary results are posted at sfelections.gov/results.

The Department will release two preliminary results reports tonight:

1. At 8:45pm, a report consisting of results from vote-by-mail ballots received before Election Day.

2. After all polling places have reported, a report incorporating Election Day results from in-person voting at all 100 polling places.

Our Voter Outreach team is hosting several Resource Tables today, sharing everything you need to know about the November 4 Statewide Special Election. Stop by to learn more about accessible voting options and key deadlines!

✅ Here’s how you can vote:
• By Mail: Ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day (Nov 4). Check USPS collection times before placing your ballot in a USPS mailbox on Election Day!
• Drop Box: Return your ballot at any of the Department's 37 official drop boxes by 8pm on Tuesday!
• In Person: Vote at the City Hall Voting Center or at any polling place from 7am to 8pm on Election Day.

You know what’s really scary? 😱 Forgetting to vote!

🗳️ Vote early this weekend at the City Hall Voting Center, open Saturday & Sunday, 10am–4pm.

Stop by to:
✅ Drop off your completed ballot
✅ Get a replacement ballot or envelope
✅ Register and vote on the same day - complete a conditional voter registration form and cast a provisional ballot!

You can also register and vote in person at any polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4.
