San Francisco Women's Housing Coalition

San Francisco Women's Housing Coalition Studies have shown that women and men experience homelessness in different ways and women are at increased vulnerability for violence.

The San Francisco Women's Housing Coalition works toward providing sustainable housing and supportive services for unhoused women in the San Francisco, Bay Area. In San Francisco today, the trends of homelessness, COVID-19 pandemic, and the displacement and the lack of services for women coming out of the criminal justice system has increased the number of women who find themselves homeless on the

streets of San Francisco. Currently, the community-based organizations providing housing for women experiencing homelessness in San Francisco do not have the capacity or resources to meet the growing demand for their services. Therefore, Cameo House, the Mary Elizabeth Inn, Community Forward, and San Francisco SafeHouse have come together to advocate for increasing the resources to meet the unique and growing needs of homeless women in San Francisco.
