Safe and Sober Graduation Town Hall 🌟 Join the City of San Fernando and .org on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM at San Fernando Recreation Park

This important event will bring together parents and high school seniors for a meaningful conversation about ensuring a Safe and Sober Graduation.

Our 35–50 minute panel features four community experts:
• An emergency room nurse
• A law enforcement officer
• An Alcoholic Beverage Control officer
• A community member

They’ll highlight key tips and insights to help make graduation season safe, memorable, and fun. 💙🤝

Walk the Block with City Leadership! 🚶‍♀️🌳

Join City Leadership for a neighborhood walk as we connect directly with our community! The goal is simple: spot issues, identify improvements, and hear from YOU. Each walk takes place in a different neighborhood and is approximately 1 mile—a great way to stay active while helping shape your community.

💧 What to bring:
• Bottled water to stay hydrated
• Comfortable walking shoes

📍 Route Start/End Locations:
• April 8 – City Hall, 117 Macneil Street
• May 6 – Pioneer Park, 828 Harding Avenue
• June 3 – Cindy Montañez Natural Park, 801 Eighth Street
• July 15 – Corner of Kalisher St. & Hewitt St.
• August 5 – Corner of Fox St. & San Fernando Rd.

The heat has returned! ☀️ Don't forget to drop by one of our to escape the heat and keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

🏞️ Cooling Centers at Las Palmas Park (505 S. Huntington St) AND Recreation Park (208 Park Ave)
🕘 Open from 9 am to 7 pm, through FRIDAY

Here are some tips to beat the heatwave:
🚰 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or juice.
❌ Avoid alcohol and caffeine, as they can contribute to dehydration.
💦 Cool down by wiping your skin with cool water whenever needed.
👕 Dress in lightweight and light-colored clothing to stay comfortable.
🕐 Seek shade and stay indoors during the hottest time of the day (11 am - 4 pm).
🌬️ Find relief in air-conditioned locations if possible.
👵 Check on older, sick, or frail individuals who may need assistance coping with the heat.
🚗 Never leave children or pets unattended in closed vehicles, even for short periods.
