Otay Mesa-Nestor (OT) Library Patron Reconnects After Decades Away

It had been quite a while since she last walked through the library doors, but the moment Ms. T stepped inside, it was as if no time had passed at all. When she approached the circulation desk, she smiled and asked one of our OT staff members, “I just want to make sure my card is still good…”
Clutched carefully in her purse was something truly special, her original library card from 1986! Yes, an authentic “oldie but goodie,” still preserved in its classic beige library card design. After nearly four decades, it was still in pristine, mint condition, truly impressive.
She continued sharing pieces of her story, connecting the past to the present in the most genuine way. She wrapped up her visit by receiving a brand-new card, officially returning as an OT branch patron after 20-something years away. We’ll be sharing more about her story, and her new chapter, in the future. So, stay tuned for more OT news!
And by the way Ms. T, your card is still good!

We're celebrating children and books with a special musical presentation by Hooray Miss Marae! Her live show will feature music, laughter, dancing, bubbles, and storytelling.

We're excited to host a free information session for high school students focused on exploring pathways to higher education within the California education system. Wedesdsay, April 15th, 4 PM - No registration required.
This event will provide helpful guidance and inspiration as they consider their future options.

Nos entusiasma organizar una sesión informativa gratuita para estudiantes en preparatoria enfocada en explorar las vías de acceso a la educación superior dentro del sistema educativo de California. No se require inscripción - en miércoles, el 15 de abril a las 4 PM.

Este evento brindará orientación útil e inspiración a medida que los estudiantes consideren sus opciones para su futuro.
