SDAT, AIASD COTE Objective: To hold the SDAT in fall of 2013.

SDAT - Sustainable Design Assessment Team

AIASD COTE - American Institute of Architects-San Diego, Committee on the Environment This will be a collaborative weekend with the community members, stake holders, planning-government officials, and design professionals to envision and develop a plan to make these co

mmunities (MB & PB) more sustainable and self supporting. We hope to address the following challenges:

- Environmental: Water quality/quantity, flooding and drought, transit and land use, energy efficiency, wildlife habitat/wetlands

- Social: Public spaces, sense of community/ place, pedestrian/bicycle options

- Economic: Revitalization, traffic congestion, transportation

We hope to expand upon already-developed web-based, open-sourced sustainable community documents such as "Sustainable North Park Mainstreet" already generated here locally in San Diego.

Did you know that solar power cost over $76 per watt in the late 1970s and now costs under 75 cents per watt? A few more years, and solar will be too cheap to ignore, even by those who don't care about the environment.
