I just watched the Trump/Harris Debate. There are many ways to assess who won the debate. However, the only criteria that unltimatley matters is which candidate picked up the most currently-undecided voters, and how the debate will influence turnout per side.
Based on Trump's over-tired whining, fear mongering, and blatant lies, (he still insists he won in 2020!), I can't imagine he picked up many undecided voters. On the other hand, Harris took Trump to task on his lies, his embrace of dictators, his creation of a post-Roe world in which several states have already passed anti-abortion legislation that denies abortion (even for r**e and in**st) and even IVF, and on his complicity in trying to illegally overturn the last election. Harris also displayed a command of the issues, a humanistic value orientation for her policy plans, an understanding of the needs of average Americans, and in general, the competence, integrity, and class necessary for the Presidency.
I also have to mention that Trump acknowledged that he wants to deport way more then 12,000,000 people from our country. Aside from the fact that these are human beings who's lives would be completely shattered, and that they are doing the jobs that citizens don't want to do (during recessions immigrants dont' come here), Trump would literally have the National Guard go door to door like N**i Germany and pull people from their homes, breaking apart families, and in many cases dumping those people into countires in which they can't survive or will be jailed or killed. The outrageousness of this white supremacist plan cannot be understated.
But back to undecided voters. Trump didn't pick up many votes. I think Harris overwhelmingly did.
As to turnout, I don't think that Trump got his voters to change their level of enthusiasm because he said nothing new. Harris on the other hand did more than hold her own in this debate. I think that the enthusiasm behind her campaign will continue to build.
So, on the criteria I mentioned above, Kamala Harris was the clear winner.
