La Jolla Meals On Wheels & La Jolla Friendly Visitors La Jolla Meals on Wheels is a senior services organization providing nutritious meals five days a week to seniors, the home-bound and the disabled.

La Jolla Meals On Wheels:
Monday through Friday, holidays included, between 10:30 am and 12:30 pm, our volunteers deliver one cold meals, one hot meal plus milk, juice or bottled water to local residents who need our assistance. A nominal fee is charged for these two meals. This fee can be waived for hardship circumstances. No client is ever turned away in our service area because of his or her in

ability to pay. These volunteers often provide the only personal contact and conversation our homebound recipients experience on a daily basis. La Jolla Friendly Visitors:
At the heart of this service is a companionship and time spent together which can vary depending on the client's interests and mobility. Feelings of loneliness and isolation are replaced with new friendship, hope and a visit to look forward to. Prospective clients are interviewed at home or in a care center; their needs are assessed and their interests are noted. Prospective volunteer visitors are interviewed, trained and screened via a background check. The Program Director matches the new client with the most compatible volunteer visitor.

Happy Thanksgiving to our dear seniors and amazing volunteers at La Jolla Friendly Visitors. We would especially like to thank our volunteers for their unlimited dedication and love to our seniors. You are so special!♥️
This holiday we delivered tiny colored vases filled with gorgeous flowers donated by Trader Joe’s, small bags of chocolates and sunflower prepared by La Jolla Garden Club and holiday greetings cards designed by La Jolla High’s Key Club.
