Does Spending on School Facilities Lead to Better Student Outcomes? 🌟

San Diego County recently passed significant bonds to improve local schools in addition to the statewide bond, Prop 2, which will provide $10 billion in funding for districts across California. But here's the big question: Will investing in infrastructure truly impact student learning? 📚🏫

The San Diego County Taxpayers Association's research arm, the 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝘅𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗗𝗧𝗘𝗙), is starting a study to explore the potential link between capital spending and academic achievement. A new 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆 offers hope: even in polarized times, bipartisan collaboration is possible. The Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress—composed of Democrats and Republicans—proved that working together can improve government processes and deliver results.

Here in San Diego County, the 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝘅𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗗𝗖𝗧𝗔) has long served as a bipartisan watchdog for 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Like the Modernization Committee, we know that trust, collaboration, and shared goals drive better governance and smarter solutions for taxpayers.

1. Subcommittee on School Performance
2. Subcommittee on Cities and County Performance
3. Subcommittee on Utility Performance

Additionally, members can establish "working groups" within these subcommittees to focus on researching a unique issue area within San Diego County, and can advance policy recommendations for approval within higher committees.

The latest results are in, and 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 with at least 𝟵 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟭 sales and parcel tax 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗮𝘅𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻® (𝗦𝗗𝗖𝗧𝗔)! 🎉 From Chula Vista to San Marcos, voters are saying YES to taxes they trust.
