USS HALSEY (DDG 97) welcomed Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. James Kilby to command PT at Naval Base San Diego, California, Aug. 31, 2026.

HALSEY participated in the Navy’s Human Performance Optimization (HPO) program, designed to strengthen, sustain and support warfighting capabilities and mission readiness.

We Remember. 🇺🇸

Last week, USS HALSEY honored the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and remembers the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and ordinary Americans who answered the call in the days that followed.

Many Sailors were either too young or not born yet to remember firsthand this travesty to our nation, but we learn from stories shared by those who lived through it so we may never forget. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸🇨🇦⚓️USS HALSEY welcomed Royal Canadian Navy frigate HMCS Charlottetown (FFH 339) to San Diego for a routine port visit on from July 21 to July 24th. HALSEY took the responsibility of being their host ship, providing them with the accommodations they requested during their stay. It was a fantastic experience! 🇺🇸🇨🇦⚓️

⚓️ CAPTAIN’S CUP ⚓️

On July 24, USS HALSEY (DDG 97) and USS O’KANE (DDG 77) went head-to-head in our monthly athletic competition called The Captains Cup, putting teamwork, strength, endurance, and shipboard camaraderie to the test. 💪⚓️

Sailors competed across flag football, push-ups, planks, pull-ups, relay races, and tug-of-war, showcasing the competitive spirit and teamwork that define our Navy.

After a hard-fought day of competition, USS HALSEY came out on top! 🏆

Congratulations to everyone who competed, supported, and represented their ship.
