For many experiencing homelessness, a pet is more than a companion — they are family, a source of comfort, protection, and unconditional love during life’s most difficult moments.

We’re honored to be featured in a recent The New York Times article highlighting the importance of keeping people and their pets together as they work toward stability and housing.

At Father Joe’s Villages, we understand the powerful bond between people and their animals. Through pet-friendly services and shelter options, we strive to remove barriers to care so our neighbors never have to choose between safety and the companions they love.

Today on World Hunger Day, we recognize that hunger is a challenge faced by far too many individuals and families in our community.

Together, we have made a lasting impact. Over the past 10 years, Father Joe’s Villages has prepared and served 9,335,838 meals, ensuring that thousands of neighbors have access to the nourishment they need and deserve.

Thank you to everyone who helps make this work possible. Every meal served is a reminder that no one should face hunger alone. 💙

From heartfelt moments to a room full of supporters united for children and families at Father Joe’s Villages, this year’s Children’s Champion Gala was truly one to remember. Because of your generosity and belief in our mission, we can continue providing stability to those who need it most.

Thank you to everyone who made this evening so special. We’re still smiling about the impact and community that came together to make a difference. 💐

Until next year, thank you for helping us champion brighter futures for children and families across San Diego 🌟

We’re honored to share that Therapeutic Childcare received a $60,000 Ready to Learn grant from the San Diego Foundation and Dr. Seuss Foundation to support our LEAP program, helping families with children ages 0–8 build strong early literacy skills together. 📚✨

Through family-centered learning, read-aloud activities, and literacy resources for parents and children, this program helps create brighter futures one story at a time. Thank you to San Diego Foundation and Dr. Seuss Foundation for investing in early learning and our community. 💛

🐾🚨 PAWS ON PATROL 🚨🐾
Rysiek came for the job but stayed for the FJV fit! 🧢

Fun fact: K9 unit dogs are trained to stay focused and responsive even in loud, high-stress environments. Thanks to thousands of hours of conditioning, trust, and teamwork with their handlers.

Whether rocking the FJV cap or gearing up for duty, our K9s represent professionalism, loyalty, and heart… On and off the clock! 🐶

Today, we remember and honor the heroes who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🤍

At Father Joe’s Villages, we are reminded that service, compassion, and caring for one another help strengthen our community every day. As we reflect this Memorial Day, we do so with deep gratitude and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Statement from Father Joe's Villages on the Attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego:

There are moments when grief exceeds language. Monday’s hate-fueled attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego is one of them. Three lives were taken. We grieve with the families affected by this tragedy and with the entire Muslim community of San Diego.

At Father Joe's Villages, we believe every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated as such. An attack on a house of worship is an attack on that belief and on all of us.

Grief is not enough. We must be willing to name what creates the conditions for this kind of violence and commit to changing it. Hate has no place in our community. We must work to build a healthy community that values diversity and understanding in a spirit of unity.

We stand with the Muslim community of San Diego in prayers for healing. To support the victims and their families directly, visit the Official ICSD Victim & Family Support Fund at the Islamic Center of San Diego: https://goodbricks.org/campaign/icsd.org/official-icsd-victim---family-support-fund
