North Clairemont Library The North Clairemont Library opened in 1962 and is one of the 36 branch libraries of the San Diego Public Library System.

Regarded as a landmark of mid-century modern design, the library is included in the self-guided driving tour of Clairemont. The North Clairemont Branch Library is located at the corner of Clairemont Drive and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in the Clairemont community of San Diego. Our branch was opened in 1962 to provide the residents of North Clairemont a convenient location to access all of the San D

iego Public Library resources. We offer a wide selection of free educational and cultural material that enriches the lives of visitors and residents alike. The North Clairemont Branch Library also provides regular and diverse programming. We hope you will visit us soon and enjoy all we have to offer! Thank you to our very own Miss Miki and library partner Mr. Walter from Write Out Loud, for a wonderful bilingual Japanese-English Kamishibai Storytime!

Miss Miki and Mr. Walter delighted audiences with The Bamboo Princess, a classic Japanese folktale. Miss Miki read the story in Japanese while Mr. Walter read the English translation in tandem, creating a unique and engaging bilingual storytelling experience for all to enjoy.

We are grateful to both of them for sharing the beauty of language, culture, and storytelling with our community!

Drums and percussion instruments from different times, origins and cultures will be showed, explained and played lively, creating an engaging and interactive participation with the audience. Crafts for families after the performance.

-Science of Tortillas (Ages 8-14): Tuesday, June 16, 2026 | 4 - 5pm
Explore what goes into making a tortilla! In this hands-on program, learn about the cultural background of tortilla-making as well as the physical and chemical changes that occur. Registration is required.

Did you know that bears can track scents from miles away and are highly intelligent tool-users; meanwhile, owls have fixed, tube-shaped eyes and asymmetrical ears that let them pinpoint sounds in 3D? We had a wonderful Tiny Tots Storytime with a Park Ranger. She taught us about the amazing world of owls, bears, and camping!
