We were forced to redo our front yard, landscaped in 1986, because our yard was severely damaged by the roots of a large Ficus tree. The roots had elevated our sidewalk, destroyed our brick mow strip and invaded our lighting, irrigation, drainage and sewer system. Our good fortune was that we hired Mark McAnelly of Southwest Landscape to take care of our project.
Every aspect of our project was dealt with in a professional and honest way. The bid we received was totally transparent, as were all aspects of the process. Obviously, some costs are fixed, such as the demolition of existing hard and soft scape. However we were offered a wide range of options with respect to plants, lighting, irrigation and drainage systems.
As with any remodel project we had a number of unexpected issues come up. The resolution of such extras were clearly laid out in the contract. Mark provided many extras to the project without charge. He is well aware that a well executed project reflects positively on his company, and that the extra effort and time he puts in pays dividends.
Mark is always accessible, available by email, text or phone, even on weekends. He runs his project himself, and is always hands on. He is extremely proud of his work, very experienced and his mantra is that of perfection and excellence. He is very demanding of both himself and his team. His company deals with all aspects of the project themselves. There are no middlemen or subcontractors to deal with, or slow one down.
Our project was completed well within the expected time and we could not be more delighted. The final product is truly a gem. It really is a pity that Mark was not around when we did our original landscaping. Mark is not the cheapest bid that one will get, but you certainly get what you pay for. On the basis of our experience, I would strongly recommend him for any landscaping project, big or small. You will not be disappointed!
