If you’ve ever caught yourself wondering... “Is this becoming a habit?” “Should I talk to someone?” “How do I help a friend who’s struggling?” Those questions matter. Recovery doesn’t begin with having all the answers. It begins with knowing
you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. Your local Substance Assessment and Counseling Center offers confidential support for Marines and families (whenever you’re ready!)

National Recovery Month highlights the importance of connection, support, and Marine Corps Total Fitness in building resilience, promoting recovery, and strengthening readiness for Marines and their families.

One conversation can make all the difference. A simple “How’ve you been?” can go a lot further than you think. Checking in isn’t about fixing someone’s problems or having all the answers. It’s about letting them know they don’t have to carry
everything alone. If a conversation turns into something bigger, that’s okay too. Community Counseling offers confidential, non-medical counseling for Marines, Sailors, and families when extra support could help. Sometimes the smallest check-in
can make the biggest difference.

Taking time to genuinely check in on fellow Marines fosters trust, strengthens resilience, and helps identify challenges early—supporting both individual well-being and unit readiness.
