Opportunities like these create space for youth and friends to strengthen relationships and make memories together.

A proud day for Hollywood. 💙🎓

We first met Hollywood when she was 16 years old, and last week, we had the privilege of celebrating her high school graduation.

Over the past two years, she's made school a priority and stayed committed to her goals. No matter what obstacles came her way, she chose to stay connected to supportive adults, leaned on her community, and kept moving forward.

Seeing so many people show up to celebrate her, including two of her brothers, staff from San Diego Youth Services, and members of her YAC family, was a reminder of just how many lives Hollywood has touched along the way. We're fortunate to have her on our Youth Advisory Board, where she continues to be a leader and source of encouragement for her peers.

Two years ago, we couldn't have imagined we'd be standing at her graduation. Today, we couldn't be prouder. Congratulations, Hollywood! 💙

We're honored to share that Youth Assistance Coalition has been selected as a 2026 Spring Minor Beneficiary of Las Patronas, and awarded a $20,000 grant toward the purchase of an eight-seat hybrid or flex-fuel minivan. 💙

Reliable transportation is a critical part of supporting youth, whether it's connecting them to appointments, employment opportunities, educational programs, or community activities. This vehicle will help us strengthen both our street outreach efforts and our ability to support youth as they navigate their next steps.

A heartfelt thank you to NAMI San Diego for the time, care, and expertise they have shared with YAC over the past year. 💙

Through art expression classes, leadership development workshops, and other programming, NAMI created opportunities for our youth to explore their creativity, build confidence, and strengthen their mental wellness.

Most recently, NAMI provided a trauma-informed training for our staff focused on supporting youth mental health and su***de prevention. We're grateful for the knowledge, tools, and compassionate approach they shared with our team. We were able to talk through our own experiences, ask questions, and reflect on the real-life situations our staff encounter, which was invaluable.

Thank you for all you have poured into our youth, staff, and community over the past year. The impact of your work continues well beyond each class and training, and we look forward to future opportunities to learn and grow together.
