In the USA, each of our States have ......official ........THINGS. Symbols. Like an Official Bird. Official Tree. Official Flower. Insect. Animal. Motto. River. You get the idea. Here in California, our government legislators (elected and paid representatives of different groups of people) spent time today in our government halls debating and voting on something earth shattering, world changing even, really very important. LAWMAKERS DEBATE THE VERY FUTURE OF SURFING !!!! As in..... should it be California's official state sport. Or should it be skateboarding. True story! Only in California would this happen.
