Pure Water San Diego The City's Pure Water San Diego Program purifies recycled water to produce safe drinking water.

Pure Water San Diego is the City's phased, multi-year program that will provide nearly 1/2 of San Diego's water supply locally by 2035. The Pure Water program:
- Uses proven technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water
- Provides a reliable, sustainable, and local water supply
- Offers a cost-effective investment for San Diego's water needs

Pure Water San Diego

will increase the City's water independence and make it more resilient against drought, climate change and natural disasters. Phase 1 - North City will produce 30 millions gallons per day (mgd) by 2025. Phase 2 - Central Area will provide an additional 53 mgd, for a total of 83 million gallons per day by 2035.
