đź’™ Today, we're celebrating Navy Ombudsman and the incredible care, support, and connection they provide to Navy families around the world.

Did you know that MCPON Perryman's spouse, Angie Perryman, is not only a Board Member of NMCRS but also serves as a Navy Ombudsman-at-Large? We were honored to welcome Angie to our Pensacola office, where she took time to learn about our Visiting Nurse Program and the support NMCRS provides to Sailors during their technical training.

Thank you, Angie, for your dedication to our Navy community, and thank you to all Navy Ombudsman for the compassion, advocacy, and service you provide every day. Your commitment makes a meaningful difference in the lives of Sailors and their families.

It’s been 25 years since that fateful morning that changed so many lives forever. On Patriot Day, we remember and honor the courage, service, and sacrifice that followed.

Today and always, we stand with everyone whose lives were touched.

On Monday, August 17, NMCRS San Diego’s Thrift Shop welcomed NBSD Commanding Officer Capt. Brian C. Bungay, Executive Officer Cmdr. William Burkland, NEX Manager Josh Pelletier, NEX Visual Manager Lauren Thompson, and other guests to kick off Thrift Shop Week.

NMCRS Staff and Volunteers showed base leadership around the shop and shared the positive impact the Thrift Shop has played in Sailors’ lives, offering uniform and civilian items at affordable prices and providing volunteer opportunities to Active-Duty service members, retirees and their families.

Thank you to NBSD leadership and the NEX for their valued partnership to improve our shop and for coming down to witness the incredible work our volunteers put into the Thrift Shop.

National Financial Awareness Day matters to us because money stress can touch every part of military family life. A budget question, an unexpected bill, or a big transition can feel heavy when you're carrying it alone.

That's why we are here: to offer practical, confidential support that helps Sailors, Marines, and their families feel more prepared.

This month, take one small step. Look at your budget, revisit your savings plan, or talk with someone who can help you sort through the questions.

A small step today can make tomorrow feel much more manageable.

Visit your local NMCRS office to make an appointment for free and confidential budget preparation services.
