The We're United (Estamos Unidos) campaign of the San Diego County Democratic Party in response to the tragic and divisive rhetoric national Republican that is alienating and marginalizing diverse communities of our country. We believe that all Americans deserve equal respect and opportunity to succeed, and that our country is made stronger by inclusion of all communities - immigrants, communities

of color, LGBTQ communities, diverse religious communities. Americans of every race, color, national origin and sexual identity are already make America great. We aim to empower diverse communities through knowledge campaigns - to educate Americans in regards to our rights, how we can influence our government, how we can organize an effective resistance to the political forces that seek to suppress us. We aim to support diverse communities through our inclusive Democratic representative, our local organizations and organizers and through our logistical support of the resistance movement.

The City of San Diego’s rent and utility relief program has helped nearly 9,500 households that have struggled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The federal and state governments are giving the city more funding to help those who need it. Please visit SDHC.org to determine your eligibility and apply for assistance.

The city's rent relief program has given out aid to 9,448 households.

As we watch the harrowing scenes out of Afghanistan, the right to seek asylum is top of mind. As an attorney, and as the descendant of immigrants who came to the U.S fleeing persecution, I am proud to see our landmark proposal for an Immigrant Legal Defense Program moving forward.

Black Youth Initiative Mentee: Meet Logan Davis. Logan is one of two interns placed in our office through the Black Youth Initiative (BYI).

As a readiness initiative, BYI provides direct support to Black high school students to prepare our students, as they pursue their career and college goals, with needed skills and competencies to meet the demands of the evolving workplace.

Logan resides in Emerald Hills and is a 10th grader at O’Farrell. Logan wants to be an entrepreneur and has already had several successful small businesses, including: dog walking, pet sitting, and a car wash.

Today, many of those devoted to serving others shared words of wisdom with Logan, as he starts his sophomore year.
