More capability. Faster repairs. Mission ready. 🌊⚙️

Today marks a powerful step forward for the San Diego waterfront as we officially reestablished Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) San Diego!

"The establishment of SIMA as an independent command is more than an administrative shift. It is a critical investment in our warfighting readiness. Tomorrow's tactical advantage is built on today's maintenance foundation. This decision ensures the hard-won expertise of our maintainers is institutionalized for the future." - Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet

SIMA delivers critical intermediate-level repair and maintenance capabilities directly to the pier, meaning faster turnaround times for our surface ships without requiring full dry-docking. Even better? It functions as a training hub where Sailors master advanced troubleshooting and fabrication skills—building a more resilient, self-sufficient force. 💪
