🎉 Celebrating 20 years of the San Diego Childhood Obesity Initiative!
On September 8, we gathered with community leaders, partners, and champions to celebrate 20 years of collective action to create healthier communities for children and families across San Diego County.
The day was officially recognized as Childhood Obesity Day and we proudly recognized Supervisor Paloma Aguirre as the San Diego Childhood Obesity Initiative’s County Champion for her leadership and commitment to advancing healthier communities for all.

🎉 ¡Celebrando 20 años de la Iniciativa de Obesidad Infantil de San Diego!
El 8 de septiembre nos reunimos con líderes comunitarios, aliados y personas que han impulsado este trabajo para celebrar 20 años de acción colectiva para crear comunidades más saludables para niñas, niños y familias en todo el Condado de San Diego.
Este día también fue reconocido oficialmente como el Día de la Obesidad Infantil, también reconocimos con orgullo a la Supervisora Paloma Aguirre como Campeona del Condado de la Iniciativa de Obesidad Infantil de San Diego, por su liderazgo y compromiso con promover comunidades más saludables para todas y todos.

Check out all the great work happening at W.D. Hall Elementary school thanks to Berry Good Food. They are one of our 2026 Mini-Grant awardees who are helping to maintain a school garden and will start garden to table cooking classes soon. Yum! Berry Good Food
