Lisa leads with integrity, compassion, and transparency. Her work strengthens our region and expands opportunities for countless families. Thank you for continuing to serve.

The University Community Branch Library has been officially reopened! 📚

Some of the long-awaited upgrades include new flooring, new technology, expanded areas for teens and children, and more — ready to enjoy! Our libraries are so much more than books; they’re a gathering place where our community learns, grows, and belongs.

Special thanks to Branch Manager Melissa Martin and San Diego Library Director Misty Jones for their hard work leading this project.

We're drawing a line in the sand. Arts are essential to San Diego—not expendable.

This morning we proposed a plan to reverse many of the budget cuts to arts and culture funding. I was joined by Budget Chair Councilmember Foster, County Vice Chair Monica Montgomery Steppe, the Prebys Foundation, and our arts organizations to announce our proposal, which will restore arts funding that supports our music venues, theaters, community festivals, and cultural programs in the Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget.

But this is bigger than one budget cycle. We're building a regional partnership—bringing together local government, philanthropy, businesses, and our creative community—to ensure future generations inherit a San Diego where creativity and culture continue to thrive.

Let's build something stronger together.
