After years of planning, collaboration, and hard work, we're proud to announce that our newest San Diego PACE Center in the heart of National City is officially open!

As our fifth PACE center serving San Diego County, this state-of-the-art facility expands access to vital healthcare and support services for the rapidly growing older adult population in South Bay communities.

Features of the new center include:
• An outdoor patio for fresh air and sunshine
• Our largest Physical Therapy gym to date
• Convenient access to services for participants living nearby through our partnership with Community Housing Works
• Modern spaces designed to support health, independence, and quality of life

We're excited to welcome participants to this new home for care and community.

September is Healthy Aging Month!

Healthy aging is about more than growing older. It's about staying active, connected, engaged, and living life to the fullest. This Healthy Aging Month, San Diego PACE celebrates the incredible older adults who inspire us every day with their strength, resilience, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.

We are honored to support our participants as they continue to build meaningful relationships, pursue their interests, and remain active in the communities they call home. Here's to celebrating the opportunities, connections, and moments of joy that make every stage of life meaningful.

Aloha from San Diego PACE!

Our participants and staff at our Vista center were recently treated to a special visit from some local youth who shared the beauty and tradition of Hawaiian culture through hula and traditional Hawaiian dance performances. The group also led an interactive hula lesson, giving participants the opportunity to learn a few dance moves and join in the fun!

It was a meaningful and joyful intergenerational experience that brought smiles, laughter, and cultural appreciation to everyone involved. Mahalo to our talented young performers for making this event so memorable!

Last week, we celebrated the dedication of Congregational Place, a new community offering 56 apartment homes for adults 55+. As part of Retirement Housing Foundation, a national nonprofit serving communities since 1961, Congregational Place provides safe, accessible housing close to public transportation, shopping, and local services.

Residents will enjoy mobility-friendly features, welcoming indoor gathering spaces, and a large outdoor community area. Through a partnership with San Diego PACE, residents who need comprehensive healthcare services will have access to coordinated care and support.

The dedication brought together representatives from RHF, Community Congregational Development Corporation (CCDC), Congregational Place staff and residents, local government, and San Diego PACE to celebrate this exciting milestone.

Here's to building stronger communities and supporting healthy, independent living for older adults.

Personalized Vision Care at San Diego PACE

At San Diego PACE, quality vision care comes directly to our participants. Through our partnership with Comprehensive Mobile Care (CMC), participants at our Vista and El Cajon centers receive on-site eye exams, custom eyewear measurements, and personalized fittings for their new glasses.

Each pair of glasses is engraved with the participant's name, adding a meaningful touch that reflects San Diego PACE and CMC's commitment to convenience, individualized care.

August is Summer Sun Safety Month!

As temperatures soar, it's important to remember that older adults are especially vulnerable to heat-related illnesses and sun exposure. Aging can make it harder for the body to regulate temperature, increasing the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

This August, help keep seniors safe by encouraging hydration, wearing sunscreen, seeking shade, and avoiding outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

A few simple precautions can make summer safer and healthier for the older adults in our lives.
