For a prisoner nearing release from custody, once out, everything is different... the problems they had on inside now changes into a whole different set of problems. From being watched and scheduled every minute of every day, they now enter a fast world of choices and more locked doors. From a monotonous prison routine, they now find themselves re-entering 'society' as some foreigner traveling in another country who is completely unfamiliar with their surroundings.

From just 'doing time' to now having to plan out time is often a huge hurdle for the re-entering brother or sister. From the institutional world of daily dependence on authority, the re-entry becomes a scary series of unfamiliar choices. Where they fear to even ask for help to make decisions nor commit to even fitting in, fear that they may be judged.
This is what OATC is here to help..... We UNDERSTAND... most of us have been right where you're at and we want to help.... We want to see you succeed!
1Cor. 1:27 says that ; Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful."

Of the thousands who will be released from California jails and prisons this year, approximately 10% have come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord needing ongoing support. We exist to assist our incarcerated loved ones and their families to successfully transition back into family life, community and the local church by establishing relationship on the inside and walking with them on the outside.

From the cell to the street, we’re called to invest in these lives spiritually, emotionally and physically.
