Spook Your Space Door Decorating Contest:
This is for department and division participation. Only the door will be judged, therefore, only the door should be decorated in conjunction with this contest. While decorating doors, keep in mind that all safety and departmental regulations still apply. Doors will be judged on creativity, artistic ability, and adherence to theme, complexity, and comprehensive décor. Each department can enter multiple doors, however one will be selected as a winner. Sign up in the MWR office, located at 2-123-2-Q, with your decorated door location. Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in gift card form.

To the Crew from Fun Boss:
It is with a heavy heart I am sharing that my time as Fun Boss with Lincoln Nation is closing. It is bittersweet saying farewell after 3 ½ years of serving such an amazing crew. This has truly been an awesome experience. Thank you for making my time worthwhile and for everything you do! I have enjoyed learning about each of your roles, ship operations, and what being a Sailor truly entails. It has given me a deeper respect for what you do for our country, and I am proud to have had this opportunity to serve you. I will continue to work with the Navy in Florida. This ship, and this crew, have become my family and I am excited to watch you on the upcoming deployment. You will do amazing things and I wish you the very best! Go get it Lincoln Nation and always find a way to have fun!

[The Night Before…]

On this day 20 years ago, 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights.

2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning.

343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift.

60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol.

8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift.

It was the last day that fathers hugged their children, husbands kissed their wife, girlfriends hugged and kissed their boyfriend.

None of them saw past 10:00AM on September 11, 2001.

In one single moment life may never be the same, so live and enjoy the breaths you take today.

And tonight, before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, hug your kids, kiss your significant other, and let go of what’s bothering you because it’s really not that bad in the grand perspective of this thing we call 'life.'

Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

Do good things.

And most important of all, be kind to one another, not just tomorrow but always.
