From February 9–16, Information Systems Technicians (IT) with Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) Kilo, based out of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Lejeune, demonstrated their critical role in Expeditionary Medicine during a training evolution at the Naval Expeditionary Medicine Warfighter Development Center.

In an expeditionary environment, reliable connectivity is mission critical. The ITs establish, maintain, and secure the communications networks that enable medical teams to operate effectively in austere and rapidly changing conditions. From configuring tactical radios to managing all communications equipment, they ensure every provider stays connected and every system remains operational.

Behind every successful patient movement, coordinated resupply, and command decision is a network built and sustained by ITs. Their technical expertise ensures that when the EMF is activated, communications are ready from the first transmission to the final patient transfer.

Their work keeps Expeditionary Medicine agile, responsive, and connected wherever the mission takes us.

From February 9–16, Sailors with Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) Kilo, based out of Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Camp Lejeune, participated in a training evolution at the Naval Expeditionary Medicine Warfighter Development Center. During the training, culinary specialists highlighted the vital role galley (dining hall) operations play in supporting Expeditionary Medicine.

Operating in an austere, expeditionary environment, these Sailors establish and sustain full-service galley capabilities that support EMF personnel around the clock. From safe food storage and field sanitation to meal preparation under operational constraints, their expertise ensures our medical teams remain energized, focused, and mission-ready.

In Expeditionary Medicine, readiness isn’t just about clinical capability, it’s about total force sustainment. Culinary specialists demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and professionalism, delivering quality meals wherever the mission takes us.

Fueling the fight. Sustaining the force. Supporting lifesaving care.

These fully functional field hospitals are designed to deploy rapidly, deliver resuscitation and emergency stabilizing surgery, and to receive patients from forward medical elements or directly from combat areas.

NEMWDC continues to prepare Expeditionary Medicine teams to provide world-class theater hospitalization whenever and wherever the mission demands.
