Hello Truman Benedict Families! This year we are excited to support Orange County Social Services with their Operation Santa Claus and Senior Santa programs.

The County of Orange Operation Santa Claus program provides new gifts and toys to children who are abandoned, neglected, and/or abused and are placed in foster care in Orange County. In addition, Operation Santa Claus provides new holiday gifts to children of disadvantaged families who are receiving services from the County of Orange.

Senior Santa & Friends provides gifts and special request items to low income individuals who are elderly or adults who are severely disabled. The individuals are clients of Orange County Social Services Agency and/or the Orange County Health Care Agency. Each year staff identifies clients who would benefit from having such things as household appliances, special medical equipment, nutritional supplements, or clothing. Often times these individuals are isolated from family and their community. Items received through Senior Santa & Friends help to enhance the quality of life, making life easier, more comfortable or more independent.

If you are able to support these causes and would like to donate to Operation Santa Claus or Senior Santa, beginning Monday we will have boxes near the front office to collect donations and there will be Angel tags that contain gift ideas. The tags are not necessary. Attached to this email are flyers with gift ideas for both children and seniors.

Happy Thanksgiving. As we take time to reflect on what we are thankful for this year, we want to acknowledge YOU! Thank you for continuing to show up for our students and school. Your generous donations of your time volunteering and your money make an impact on our students and staff every day! Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every student gets the care and support they need to succeed.

Join us as we partner with FAM to support local families during the holidays. Bins are located at the front of the school to drop off any donations. During this time, FAM especially needs: Canned fruited and vegetables, shelf stable foods, holiday meal items and baby supplies (wipes, diapers, formula). Together we can make the holiday season bright!

Get an early start on your holiday shopping and hive back to TBES! This week your Bobcat should come home with a Charleston Wrap Fundraiser Packet. Please consider purchasing upcoming holiday gifts or wrapping paper, as a percentage of proceeds goes to Truman Benedict PTA! Orders must be in by November 2nd! Go Bobcats!

Our Fall Book Fair begins Monday October 16th and ends Friday October 20th. All students will get a chance to go check out the Book Fair with their class. It will also be open for one hour after school everyday and during Trunk or Treat! We need a lot of volunteers for this. If you can give an hour of your time please click on the link below to sign up to work the Book Fair!
