☀️🌱Thank you all who signed up your child for the Natural Resource Youth Practicum this summer.

❗️The deadline for that was May 15th. We are NOT accepting any more applications.

✅ We are in contact with the parents for the elementary category. We will be delivering acceptance letters with day camp information and the schedule that will start June 8th-12th.

▪️We will be contacting the parents for the Jr. High and High School categories on June 12th and will be delivering the acceptance letter as well.

📍🔥The prescribed burn proceeds this morning with the final unit in Beverly Hills, Gilson Wash District. Resources will patrol units to ensure containment lines are secured.

👩🏾‍🚒Overview: This morning, fire resources proceeded with ignition with the final unit in Beverly Hills, Gilson Wash district. Yesterday, no issues occurred; flame lengths were within expectations when consuming target fuel loads. Smoke is dispersing adequately in the afternoon. After this morning’s ignition operations, resources will continue to patrol units to ensure containment lines are secured. Tomorrow will also be a full shift of patrolling in the Beverly Hills units.

✅The goals of the prescribed burn are to treat, reduce, and consume grass species between 75% - 95% in each ignition unit. This will help reduce the chances of wildland urban interface (fire ignition and spread because these primary fire carriers are a threat to private property, structures, and infrastructure.
