We are looking for lifeguards and tomorrow night we're having a meeting to let you know what it takes to be a lifeguard and if you're interested, we will be doing tryouts to see if you are qualified to take the lifeguard certification course. We will be having the certification course taught here at our pool in a couple weeks, after going through all the pre-requisites and application process to see who gets hired.
But... you must attend tomorrow night's meeting if you are interested. Spots are limited, so PLEASE call Angel Jackson to save your spot! Her number is on the flyer.

Are you interested in becoming a Lifeguard?

Please come to the New Gilson Wash Aquatic Center, Wednesday May 10, 5-7 pm to learn more. Also, please bring your swimwear so you can show us your swim skills. Can you tread water? Can you dive down underwater to pick up a 10 pound weight?
Must be at least 18 years old.

to sign up for the meeting so we know how many are coming.

Here are the prerequisites that Red Cross Requires to take the Lifeguard Certification Course:
Qualifications: Students must pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking lifeguarding courses. This includes a 300-yard swim using front crawl or breaststroke, a 2-minute tread using legs only and the ability to retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within 100 seconds.
