Looks like gyms and schools will start to reopen starting this Friday. I would love to watch my grandchildren play sports but Youth Sports are still illegal in California. Should children be able to play sports or is it too soon?
Schools, Bars, and Gyms set to reopen Friday.
Some businesses are still closed down completely and have been since March, due to COVID-19. Over the last month, California has slowly allowed businesses to reopen with restrictions and guidelines. Starting this Friday, June 12, 2020, California will allow schools, camps, bars, gyms, and other sectors to begin reopening. Not included in this list are nail salons, movie theaters, and youth sports. It seems the nail industry has received a bad wrap through this pandemic. California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom, announced that California’s first reported case of COVID-19 came from a nail salon in Southern California. "This whole thing started in the state of California the first community spread in a nail salon," said the California Gov. San Bernardino has continually met the States thresholds on the number of cases, testing, and preparedness, and because of this, have rapidly moved through the States reopening Phases.

COVID-19 Compliance Program:
Businesses that need assistance in complying with the County’s new health guidance are recommended to join the County’s COVID compliance program. We recently wrote an article on the COVID Compliance Program which breaks it down and explains how to apply. Basically, it is a new program made by the County of San Bernardino to help businesses meet the new health guidances. Obviously, there is a cost to purchasing PPE, improving sanitation, and adding new recommendations into a business and the County wants to help. Participating businesses can receive $2,500 in funding to bring their business up to the County’s new guidelines. This way businesses can more easily afford improvements, equipment, and supplies necessary to meet the standards of a post coronavirus world. Businesses who meet the standards will be given a sign to display in their window. The sign basically states that the County certifies this business as meeting it’s health and safety guidelines. Businesses who do not have the COVID Compliance sign may still be meeting all the County’s new health and safety guidelines, but decided not to participate in the County’s program.
