The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office announces that Defendant Nathaniel Jeriah Cason has been sentenced to 17 years in state prison for human trafficking of a minor, following his conviction for:

• PC 236.1(c)(1) – Human Trafficking of a Minor
• PC 266i(b)(2) – Pandering a Minor Under 16 (stayed under PC 654)
• PC 236.4 – Prior Human Trafficking Conviction Enhancement

This case was brought forward and successfully prosecuted through the dedicated work of our Human Trafficking Unit, whose mission is to protect the most vulnerable and aggressively pursue those who exploit minors. Evidence presented at trial showed that Cason targeted and recruited a 15‑year‑old victim in an area known for commercial sexual exploitation.

By securing this conviction, our Office continues its commitment to eradicate traffickers from our community, removing dangerous perpetrators from our streets, and strengthening the safety and wellbeing of San Bernardino County.

Congratulations to San Bernardino County Deputy District Attorney Deep Juneja, honored as MADD’s Prosecutor of the Year!

Since joining the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office in August 2024, DDA Deep Singh Juneja has made an immediate impact on the Misdemeanor team at the San Bernardino Justice Center. In just ten months, he took eight DUI cases to trial—three involving solo or non‑injury collisions that highlight how dangerous impaired driving is for everyone on the road.

Several defendants had prior DUI convictions, and one was even on probation, but Deep didn’t hesitate to bring these tough cases forward. His strong partnerships with CHP, Colton PD, San Bernardino PD, and Redlands PD have strengthened investigations and helped secure meaningful outcomes that hold offenders accountable.

Deep’s fearless trial work, meticulous preparation, and unwavering commitment to public safety are making San Bernardino County’s roads safer for all of us.

A well‑deserved recognition! Congratulations, Deep!

This Mother’s Day, we honor the strength, courage, and love of mothers throughout our community; especially those who have endured the unimaginable.

To the mothers who have lost a child to violence, to the mothers who have survived violent crime, and to all who are missing their mothers today, we see your pain, your resilience, and your unwavering hope.

Your stories guide our mission every single day. They remind us why justice matters — not in the abstract, but in the lives of real families who deserve safety, dignity, and accountability.

Today, we stand with you. We honor you. And we remain commited to the work of building a safer future for all.

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week ⚖️🕊️ .

Today marks the beginning of 2026 National Crime Victims Rights Week. It’s a week our Office dedicates to uplift, advocate and elevate the voices and stories of crime victims.

This year we are highlighting the life and story of Michelle “Missy” Jones. Missy, a Claremont Police Dept dispatcher was found murdered in 1980, and at the time, there was no suspect. An astonishing 40 years went by before a determined Fontana Police Dept. detective and DNA testing would led to the arrest and subsequent conviction of Missy’s killer.

Monday April 20th, at our West Valley memorial, her younger surviving sister, Kymberly Jones will take the stage and share the story of Missy’s life and her family’s nearly 45 years of waiting for justice. This year’s West Valley memorial event will take place on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM. It will be located at Sunrise Church Rialto Campus.

Livestream video will be available via our YouTube channel. Www.YouTube.com/sbcountyda

The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Luis Javier Gallegos (28) of Rancho Cucamonga in connection with several arson incidents within Ontario Mills Mall in Ontario.

On Tuesday April 14th San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed the following charges:

11 counts of PC451(d) – Arson of Property of Another

1 count of PC 451(c) – Arson of a Structure or Forest

2 counts of PC 422(a) – Criminal Threats

1 count of PC 69 – Resisting an Executive Officer

1 count of PC 148 – Attempted Firearm Removal

“I don’t care what your political party or political persuasion is, all I care about is your conduct, and how that conduct compares to the rule of law. If your conduct violates criminal law and we can prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, we will be filing charges. If criminal conduct is how you show concern about the economy, I know a place you can go to get a free bed, free food, free clothes and potentially many friends.” District Attorney Jason Anderson said.

The bottom-line is if you play stupid games here in San Bernardino County, you are going to win state prison prizes.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and further charges may be added. Additional information will be released as it becomes available. Gallegos is due to be arraigned Wednesday April 15th, 2026 at Rancho Cucamonga Superior Courthouse.
