County Schools serves as a link between the California Department of Education and the 33 K-12 school districts in the county to ensure the success of every child—cradle to career. We deliver innovat
ive and inspiring direct instruction to alternative, juvenile court, special education and state preschool students. The office of the superintendent is committed to working with school districts, other agencies, families and the community at-large, providing leadership, advocacy and services — always with the focus on students. The county superintendent provides educational leadership and a menu of services to every school district in San Bernardino County. The county superintendent also serves as the ex-officio secretary and executive officer to the County Board of Education and County Committee on School District Organization, and provides administrative support services to the County School Boards Association. The purpose of this site is to provide current and accurate information regarding San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools (SBCSS) programs, activities and operations consistent with the organization’s mission and in compliance with SBCSS policies and procedures.
