Introducing the Measure I Celebrates Route 66 Centennial celebration postcard series! Throughout the summer we’ll share one-of-a-kind postcards highlighting communities along Route 66. First up: Amboy!

Amboy became one of Route 66’s most iconic desert stops, where travelers found fuel, rest, and a glowing welcome in the middle of the Mojave Desert. Today, Amboy leans into its mid-century quirks and has found a modern-day following among road-trippers seeking a bit of nostalgia.

Funding from Measure I invests in keeping us connected to these communities along Route 66. Highways, roads, bridges, interchanges, and more throughout San Bernardino County, that help visitors get to the Mother Road, are seeing real, impactful improvements, thanks to Measure I. That means visitors will be able to enjoy Amboy’s retro charm, and the roads that bring them here, for decades to come.

Celebrate the Past. Build the Future.
