Our recruits just finished their weeklong state training course in RICO. This course trains firefighters to rescue a downed fire fighter in an immediately dangerous to life and health environment. The hope is to reduce the number of fire fighter injuries and deaths that occur regularly with this training. Recruits train using evolutions and scenarios based off tragedies suffered by fellow fighters from departments across the country. This training also focused on self-survival tools and prevention that will stay with them throughout their careers. We would like to thank Crafton Hills College for the use of their training facility.

Today is . stands with our law enforcement partners throughout the county who serve with courage and protect our communities every day. Thank you for your partnership and shared commitment to public safety that strengthens our communities.

Often called the detectives of the fire service, Fire Marshal Investigators are sworn peace officers who play a vital role in protecting our communities by determining the cause and origin of fires, investigating suspicious incidents, and identifying and apprehending arsonists. Their work includes securing and analyzing evidence, interviewing witnesses, executing search warrants, making arrests, reviewing building plans, conducting fire code inspections, and educating the public to prevent fires before they start.

Through extensive training in fire science, criminal investigation, and law enforcement, and in close coordination with local, state, and federal agencies, they carry out a unified mission of prevention, investigation, and enforcement to protect lives and property.

πŸŽ„ Decades of Giving. One Powerful Mission. πŸŽ„

We’re proud to celebrate decades of partnership with ABC7 through the Spark of Love Toy Drive. Year after year, together we collect toys that bring hope, comfort, and joy to children throughout our community β€” reaching families in need, those impacted by tragedy, and children spending the holidays in the hospital.

Our promise is simple: no child in our county is forgotten, and every child deserves the chance to open a gift on Christmas morning. 🎁

Go behind the scenes and see the passion that drives our firefighters to keep this tradition alive for generations to come.
