SBHA is excited to celebrate local author and artist Juliza Tamez-Garcia, owner of Casa Blanca Boutique on historic Robertson Street in San Benito, TX, on the release of her new children’s book! 📚🎨

Her book, Trixie & Dixie – The Mystery of the Missing Cape, is a bilingual children’s book created for ages 4–8 and is available in both reading and coloring formats, making it fun and engaging for young readers. 🌟📖

📖 Her book will be available at our La Hermosa and Vista Park developments for our community to stop by, check out, and enjoy. Juliza is also a talented painter, and we’re excited to showcase her beautiful artwork as well! 🎨✨

📣 Big Things Are Ahead for SBHA! 💙✨

Today, the SBHA leadership team came together with enthusiasm, purpose, and exciting ideas to plan for an incredible year ahead! We’re setting meaningful goals, strengthening our priorities, and exploring new opportunities to grow our organization and make an even greater impact in our community. 🙌

A special thank you to our guest speaker, Ray Saldana, for sharing his valuable insights and experiences with our team. Your perspective and encouragement were truly appreciated! 👏

We’d also like to thank Gigi’s Restaurant for their wonderful hospitality and for providing such a welcoming space for our team to gather. 💙

We’re excited to turn these plans into action and make the coming year one to remember! Get ready—there’s so much to look forward to! 💙🎉

Yesterday, the SBHA team attended “Hunger in the RGV: A Call to Action”, an important meeting focused on addressing hunger and food insecurity across the Rio Grande Valley.

The event brought together Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez and a distinguished lineup of speakers and community leaders who shared valuable insights on the challenges facing our communities and, most importantly, what we can do to help.

SBHA is proud to be part of these important conversations and looks forward to continuing to support efforts that strengthen access to food and resources for families in Housing and throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Together, we can make a difference! 💙

We are always happy to see our residents stop by and take advantage of the resources available to them through our monthly food pantry.

❤️ Tu Salud Sí Cuenta — Your Health Matters! ❤️

Today, we were happy to welcome Ms. Letty Gomez, Community Outreach Worker with the City of San Benito, to Palmville Estates to provide blood pressure screenings for our residents and staff through the Tu Salud Sí Cuenta program! 🩺

These simple screenings are a great reminder of how important it is to stay informed about our health and take small, proactive steps toward our overall well-being.

We sincerely thank Ms. Letty Gomez and the City of San Benito for partnering with San Benito Housing Authority and bringing valuable health resources directly to our community. Partnerships like these help us connect our residents with services and information that can make a difference. 💙💚

Happy National Senior Citizens Day! 💙💛

Thursday we had the pleasure of celebrating our wonderful Palmville residents with a special luncheon in recognition of National Senior Citizens Day! We enjoyed delicious brisket sandwiches, good conversation, and most importantly, time together as a community. 🍽️❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us today, and to those who helped make the afternoon special. To all of our seniors: we appreciate you, we value you, and we celebrate you today and every day! 🏡✨
