Today, I called for a delay in the SAWS Rate Increase Vote. Delaying this vote is a measured and reasonable approach. Before residents are asked to pay more, SAWS should provide clear commitments, measurable outcomes, and specific timelines to address longstanding concerns. I am confident the Board and CEO will continue engaging on these concerns and return in October with a thoughtful plan of action.

⚠️ If you encounter a flashing yellow signal at a low-water crossing, turn around—don’t drive through, even if barricades are not present.

Pearsall Park stands as a testament to what can happen when a community dreams big and leaders across generations work toward a shared vision.

Over the past decade, District 4 leaders, neighborhood advocates, and community partners transformed a former landfill into one of San Antonio’s premier destination parks.

As we celebrate 10 Years of Play, we thank former District 4 Councilmembers Richard Perez, Dr. Philip Cortez, Rey Saldaña, and Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia for their vision and leadership in helping make Pearsall Park the community treasure it is today.

Special thanks to the Southwest Community Association and neighborhood champions Mr. and Mrs. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz, Carol Abitz, JoAnn Sandoval, Shanelle Alviar, and countless other neighbors and advocates whose dedication helped make Pearsall Park what it is today.
