Our 8th grade DATA students in Graphic Design & Illustration are delving into the foundations of illustration and developing their artistic skills through hands-on drawing activities. Students have been exploring techniques such as proportion, shape, line, texture, shading, and value as they create realistic eyes and trees. These projects are helping students strengthen their observation skills, build confidence in their drawing abilities, and establish foundational techniques they can apply to future graphic design and illustration projects.

Last week our 7th graders dove right into designing in their Digital Media class. They were designing Google Classroom banners using images, colors and graphics they thought represented their class period and digital media.

Our 6th graders are starting the year off strong!

In order to better understand the importance of lab safety rules, 6th grade students created comics where a lab rule was broken. They drew what they thought would happen as a consequence of the rule being broken. These 7 students: Diego Guervara, Elaina Allayban, Ryan Tek, Elizabeth Lambert, Fatima Soria, William Aguirre, and Yura Han had exceptional work, and their comics were displayed outside the classroom!

Great event tomorrow!

Tomorrow's the big day! 🎒✨

Join us for a morning of back-to-school support, including free school supplies, helpful resources, assistance with Skyward and School Nutrition, and more. Students will also have the chance to receive free tennis shoes and haircut vouchers while supplies last. Families should bring their students' ID numbers to participate.

📣 ALL Ed White and DATA families are invited to our Eagle Flight Nights! Come for a short parent presentation and then walk your student's schedule.

2 separate dates:
⭐️ 7th & 8th grade: August 12
⭐️ 6th grade: August 13

This is NOT Meet the Teacher. It is a great opportunity for parents to meet admin and hear our expectations for a successful year and to help students feel confident for getting around campus on day 1! 🤩

Schedules go live in Skyward August 11. We will NOT have printed schedules available for these events.

We spent Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week hosting DATA camp for our incoming 6th graders. They got to meet the teachers and each other, participate in games and activities related to design and got to tour the campus. They were even given some paper plate awards designed by the teachers.

It was a major success. Student said their favorite part was meeting friends. We can’t wait to see their smiling faces on the first day of school.
